"Crumb has been a huge influence on me since I started reading his comics as a kid. He's still one of the few cartoonists I go back to regularly to restore my faith in the power of comics and even of drawing itself. I can lose myself in the lush, harsh texture of his pen for hours. Most of all, his work is the real thing: honest, painful, beautiful and ugly. "
